The courage to say sorry

This is regarding the story “The courage to say sorry” by Muhammad Zaid Bilal (YW, July 18).

The story showed that sometimes we know we are wrong, but still don’t want to appologise because of our ego. I have also had arguments with my friends where we both waited for the other person to talk first.

The story also gave a lesson that being angry with someone does not mean you stop caring about them. These emotions eventually subside, and you realise that saying sorry does not make you weak. Sometimes, it is the best way to save your relationship.

The line ‘Saying sorry does not make you small’ stayed with me throughout the day after reading the story “The courage to say sorry” by Muhammad Zaid Bilal. Sometimes even saying two simple words feels so difficult, but they are important in building relationships.

So if someone is important to you, it is better to put your ego aside and talk things out instead of letting the friendship fade.

The forgotten world of Pakistan’s circuses

This concerns the article “The forgotten world of Pakistan’s circuses” by Marvi Soomro (YW, July 18).

Much of the information in the article was new to me, especially the fact that children start training at only four or five years old. We should appreciate and support these performers, and our government should support local circuses throughout the country.

“The forgotten world of Pakistan’s circuses” by Marvi Soomro reminded me of my childhood. For me, music and magic show was the main attraction. But I never thought about the people working there or how difficult their lives could be. Circuses are part of our entertainment history and people who depend on circuses should get some support from the concerned authorities, because they are performing artists and their work should be respected and encouraged.

Meme glasses

This is with reference to the Wonder Craft section “Meme glasses” by The Crafter (YW, July 18). It was a simple and easy craft and also very trendy to make.

I really liked how it turned out once I tried it. The most fun part was when all my friends and I took pictures wearing them. I loved it because it was literally cool.
