TOBA TEK SINGH: A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband and injuring their three daughters in Chak 126 GB of Jaranwala tehsil on Wednesday.

According to the police, Gulshan Bibi (35) had a quarrel with her husband Muhammad Khalid (40) over their financial situation and other domestic issues.

Police claimed that she attacked her husband and their daughters Aneeqa (10), Anaya (8) and Ayeza (4) with a chopper and injured them.

They were shifted to the Jaranwala THQ Hospital and doctors referred Khalid to the Faisalabad Allied Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

RELEASED: Insaf Lawyers’ Forum President Advocate Adeel Safdar Chohan and his daughter were released by the Toba Tek Singh City police on Wednesday.

They were detained a few days ago during a crackdown on PTI activists to restrain them from going to Islamabad on Sept 27 to participate in the protest called by the PTI.

District Bar Association (DBA) members had observed a strike over their arrest and threatened to take to the streets. As a result of talks between police and bar office bearers, they were released.

Meanwhile, the Nawan Lahore police in Gojra tehsil detained PTI leader and former union council nazim Chaudhry Abdul Saeed for one month under the MPO in the district jail on the orders of the deputy commissioner. Another 14 PTI activists were also being detained at the district jail under the same offence on the orders of the DC.

BODY FOUND: The body of a youth was found hanging from a tree in Gojra Chak 432 JB on Wednesday.

Reports said deceased Shoaib Arif had gone to his fields to bring fodder for animals but when he did not return, his parents went to the fields. There they saw injuries on both of his arms and his body was hanging from a tree.

The Gojra Saddar police shifted his body to the Gojra THQ Hospital for autopsy and were investigating.

Meanwhile, a man, identified as Khalil (56), who supplied canned water to houses died after a speeding motorcyclist hit him on the Faisalabad Road in Gojra.

RAPE: A married woman was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a man in Gojra.

The victim’s husband, in his complaint to the Gojra Saddar police, claimed that his wife A was on her way in Chak 281 JB when the accused and his accomplices bundled her into their car and took her to a house at an unknown location. He claimed that the accused raped her while his accomplices stood guard. Later, they dropped her outside the village.

Police were conducting raids to arrest the accused persons.

RAID: Jhang District Drug Controller Attiya Nawaz, on a tip-off from the Special Branch, conducted a raid at a shop in the fish market and recovered a large quantity of prohibited, substandard and unlicensed medicines, including drugs allegedly being sold for sexual stimulation.

A number of expired medicines were also seized from the premises claimed to be worth Rs40 million. Further legal action against the shop owner was underway.

ABSCONDER REPATRIATED: Faisalabad Chak Jhumra police claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender in an attempted murder case from Saudi Arabia.

Police said accused Hassan Ali had allegedly shot and injured a man with whom he had a quarrel over uploading an objectionable post on his social media account on March 10, 2025 and had fled abroad.

ROOF COLLAPSE: A child died after the dilapidated roof of his house collapsed on Tuesday night in Shadab Colony located on the Jhang Road in Faisalabad.

Rescuers removed the rubble and shifted Muhammad Burhan (13) to the Faisalabad DHQ Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
