MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto reiterated here today [Sept 16] that there is only one dispute between India and Pakistan and that is Kashmir. This was the basic issue and Pakistan will never go back on its commitment nor it will bargain on the fundamental principle of the right of self-determination of the Kashmiris. He was addressing the Supreme Council of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation League … at which its President, Mr K.H. Khursheed, announced KLL’s merger with the Azad Kashmir People’s Party. Mr. Bhutto said that the Kashmir issue was in the minds and hearts of the people. — Correspondent

[Meanwhile, as reported from Karachi,] [PM Bhutto] said … that his Government would do everything possible to alleviate the sufferings of the people affected by the building tragedy in … Lyari... . [He] was talking to the injured persons under treatment at the Civil Hospital. After visiting the site of the tragedy the [PM] drove to the Civil Hospital and went round from bed to bed to inquire from the patients about their conditions and the medical aid they are receiving. … …The [PM] affectionately patted a 10-year-old boy, Mazhar, whose crushed right leg has been amputated.
