BANNU: The bullet-riddled bodies of three unidentified men were found in different areas here on Thursday morning.

They were shifted to the hospital for identification and legal formalities.

The police said two bodies were found in the Talagai area of Domel tehsil and the third in the Gareda Shahjahan area.

Local sources said those men appeared to have been shot dead.

However, their identities and the motive behind their killings have yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, armed men set road construction machinery on fire here on Thursday, police sources said.

They said that unidentified armed men torched the machinery.

The incident took place at Mirza Jan brick kiln on the Derdariz Road in the jurisdiction of Havid police station, where road construction is under way.

Police said they launched an investigation into the incident and were collecting evidence to determine the identity of those involved.

Meanwhile, a child allegedly died after being administered an injection at the Women and Children Hospital in Bannu on Thursday.

The family staged a protest against the hospital administration, alleging that the staff member assigned to administer the injection was not present, so an unrelated person performed that duty, leading to the child’s death

It demanded an investigation into the incident and action against those found responsible.

The family also urged authorities, especially the chief minister, to take immediate notice of the incident and ensure timely action against culprits.

The hospital administration has constituted a committee to formally investigate the child’s death.

A spokesman for the MTI said the patient was brought to the hospital over a complaint of seizures.

Doctors, nurses and other medical personnel, present on duty, provided the child with emergency care and made serious efforts to save his life.

However, the patient didn’t survive.
