QUETTA: Two men were killed in a powerful explosion inside a house at Allahabad area of Kachi Baig in Sariab on Friday evening, police said.

Officials said the house was badly damaged in the blast, which also smashed the windowpanes of nearby houses. Soon after the blast, police rushed to the area and found two bodies in the damaged house along with a destroyed motorcycle.

“The initial investigation revealed that two people present in the house were planting an explosive device in the motorbike when it exploded,” said DSP Khizar Hayat.

“It seems nobody was living in the house as only two beds were found in a room and no other household was recovered,” the officer said.

Bodies of the deceased were shifted to the civil hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The bomb disposal squad also reached the area of the blast and collected evidence.
