QUETTA: A week-long anti-polio campaign is set to commence on Monday (today) across 32 districts of Balochistan, targeting around 2.3 million children under five to eliminate the virus from the region.

Inamul Haque, coordinator for the Emergency Operation Centre in Balochistan, said preparations for the campaign had been completed, with a total of 9,193 teams being deployed. The deployment includes 621 fixed-site teams and 392 transit-point teams.

The campaign will continue for seven days and cover the province’s 32 designated districts. The vaccination drive follows recent environmental data showing that two positive environmental samples were detected in Balochistan.
