KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Monday granted more time to the police to submit the final charge sheet in the Mir Raza Ali murder case.

At the outset of the proceedings, the investigating officer, DSP Sirajuddin Lashari, submitted an application before the Judicial Magistrate (East), seeking a 14-day extension to submit the final police report.

In the application, the IO stated that the investigation was still ongoing and that information regarding Mir Raza’s cryptocurrency account on the Binance platform had been received. However, in light of the information, he had filed an application before the concerned court seeking permission to obtain details of the transactions conducted on the platform. He said the application was fixed to be heard on Oct 1.

He added that the forensic reports of the mobile phones of Mir Raza’s fiancée, his business partner and Dr Osama, who had conducted the first post-mortem examination, were still awaited.

After hearing the IO, the court granted more time to submit the final charge sheet in the murder case.
