US Central Command (Centcom) commander Admiral Brad Cooper has announced the new Rapid Employment Joint Task Force (REJTF), which is equipped with “cutting-edge technology” and features the American military’s first one-way attack drone squadron.
In a statement posted on X, Adm Cooper adds that the force used an unmanned surface vessel to rescue a downed US pilot in Middle Eastern waters in June.
“The REJTF team is now developing the world’s first multinational attack drone unit, building on the incredible milestones achieved over the past 52 weeks,” the statement adds.
