'We seek energy for progress': Pezeshkian says Iran not interested in energy 'to threaten societies'
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says the country’s pursuit of nuclear energy is not “to threaten societies” with weapons of mass destruction.
“We seek energy for progress, not to threaten societies with weapons, and we wish to cooperate and collaborate for security,” he emphasises before the United Nations General Assembly.
“Iran must be powerful so as to avoid its future being threatened. We do not wish to use our power for hegemony, and we do not seek our security in the insecurity of others,” he adds.
