Letting go of our first car

This is regarding the story “Letting go of our first car” by Arham Kashif (YW, July 18). While reading it, I kept thinking about how attached we can get to things that have been around during important parts of our lives.

I have a few things at home that may look completely ordinary to someone else, but I would hate to lose them because they remind me of certain people and moments.

Knowing that it was the final ride in a car that had been part of one’s childhood must have felt very sad.

It made me realise that sometimes we aren’t really saying goodbye to the thing, but to a whole period of our life.

Boys will be bros

This is with reference to the cover article “Boys will be bros” by Asif Ali (YW, July 25).

Being a boy, I can relate to almost everything explained in the article. Yes, we use jokes and give nicknames to each other, make random plans and just show up at the door.

When someone asks if we care about each other, everyone suddenly becomes very quiet, but if one of us needs help, the whole group somehow shows up.

I also liked the point about boys becoming less open about their friendships as they grow older. This is how we are; we don’t pretend; it’s just the way we think and act.

I would really like to thank the writer and the YW team for publishing this article; it was really fun reading about ourselves.

The cover article “Boys will be bros” by Asif Ali discussed boys’ friendships and how they express them in different ways.

Instead of giving gifts or saying emotional words, they show their love by teasing, helping and supporting each other when in need.

The article focused on the importance of trust, loyalty and good friendship. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.

The cover article “Boys will be bros” by Asif Ali was a wonderful article and we enjoyed reading it.

It’s true that boys don’t need any special day to celebrate friendship; they celebrate it in their own way when they are together.

Their friendship is incomplete without giving nicknames to each other. They chill every moment together, whether it is a sad or joyful one.
