Gas prices rise 5pc as hopes fade for a breakthrough in US-Iran talks

Dutch and British front-month gas prices rose more than five per cent amid scant signs of progress in US-Iran talks, Reuters reports.

Dutch gas for August was up 5.49pc at 75.96 per megawatt hour by 1543 GMT, ICE data showed.

The equivalent British contract was 5.65pc higher at 189.62 pence per therm.
