Asked about progress in US-Iran negotiations, PM Shehbaz has said that Pakistan’s leadership is unified in intensifying endeavours for peace according to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, he called for friendly countries to join together and make efforts to end the incitement in the region.
He added that he had a “very detailed” meeting with Iran’s President Pezeshkian today, in which he told the president that regional peace was the need of the hour.
“You know Iran is our brotherly country, our neighbour. So I told him that Pakistan’s leadership … will join together and, like before, will continue our efforts to establish peace,” he said, adding that Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation and readiness to advance the Islamabad MoU.
