Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says that responding to an attack on countries in the Makkah defence alliance will be decided based on the “request and needs” of the country being targeted, Al Jazeera reports.
In an interview with US outlet Newsweek, Erdogan says support for countries in the pact could manifest as “intelligence, logistical, or ammunition assistance”.
“More advanced military support could also be considered depending on the scale of the threat,” the Turkish president adds.
