ISLAMABAD: The Russian Embassy has announced that the International Open Doors Olympiad offered Pakistani students opportunities to pursue tuition-free studies in Russia.

In a statement, the embassy said Pakistani students and young researchers had an opportunity to compete for tuition-free places at Russian universities through the International Open Doors Olympiad, a scholarship project for talented foreign nationals, including Russian compatriots living abroad.

The Olympiad provided opportunities to pursue bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral studies in Russia, as well as postdoctoral research. Winners were eligible for tuition-free education under the quota established by the government of the Russian Federation for foreign nationals. They could also apply for grant support.

The online academic competitions were conducted in three educational tracks as well as a separate research track for young scientists seeking postdoctoral opportunities.

Since the launch of the project, more than 618,000 participants from over 200 countries had taken part in the Open Doors Olympiad, with more than 16,700 participants declared winners.
