BAHAWALNAGAR: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested one of the four landlords accused of gang-raping two teenage boys after enticing them away from a wedding ceremony to an outhouse in Khichiwala.

The first information report registered with the Khichiwala police on Sept 26 stated two 14-year-old friends ‘Za’ and ‘Sa’, residents of village 186/7R, attended a wedding ceremony with their families at village 190/7R on Sept 23 and went missing.

When their families realised they were missing in the evening, they launched a search.

Some eyewitnesses reported that the boys had been seen going towards an outhouse. As the families arrived in the cotton fields, they heard youngsters crying in the fields at around 8pm.

They saw two men allegedly raping the boys. Both the suspects managed their escape.

Meanwhile, the youngsters told their families that ‘Zh’ had lured them away from the wedding hall, taken them to his farmhouse, and sexually assaulted them.

Three individuals ‘S’, ‘A’ and ‘As’ already present there took them to fields and allegedly gang-raped them after threatening to release a video of the act on social media.

A police spokesperson said one of the main suspects was arrested and the victims had undergone medical examination and further action would be taken in light of the medical results.
