LAHORE: The Punjab home department has requested the interior ministry that troops of Pakistan Army and Rangers (Punjab) be deployed for smooth, peaceful and secure conduct of by-election in NA-168 in Bahawalpur on Sunday (today).
The home department has said that the district returning officer (NA-168 Bahawalpur-V), has sought army’s 10 QRF teams, each comprising 10 personnel, as well as two companies of Pakistan Rangers, Punjab, (for static deployment) to ensure smooth, peaceful and secure conduct of by-election.
