DADU: Eight journalists were injured when a portion of the ceiling in the Dadu Press Club’s conference hall suddenly collapsed during a general body meeting.

The incident caused panic and a stampede inside the hall as participants rushed to safety. The injured journalists were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment.

Those injured were identified as Sattar Sheikh, Ali Gul Channa, Shiraz Sheikh, Shaukat Mallah, Sajjad Solangi, Moharam Sheikh, Mohram Shini and cameraman Nadeem Shahani.

Club President Nizam Sheikh has appealed to the Sindh chief minister to take immediate steps to repair the press club building’s deteriorating condition, to ensure the safety of journalists and prevent any further incidents.
