Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has met his Burkina Faso counterpart Karamoko Jean-Marie Traore in New York, discussing bilateral relations and developments in the Sahel and West Asia, IRNA reports.
Araghchi traveled to New York to attend a United Nations General Assembly session.
During the meeting, Araghchi thanked Traore for attending a ceremony honoring the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
He expressed appreciation for Burkina Faso’s principled positions and the solidarity and sympathy shown by its people toward Iran in the face of military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime.
