LAKKI MARWAT: Three people were killed when two groups clashed in Kurrum Par area of Lakki Marwat district on Sunday night.

Police said that an armed clash took place in Kaichi Kamar village located along the Kurrum River in the limits of Dadiwala police station. The deceased were identified as Younas Khan and his son Abdul Qayyum Khan from one side and Rafiullah from the other group.

A son of Younas Khan told police that armed suspects including Yousaf Khan, Amanullah, Qasam Khan and Naimatullah opened fire on his father and brother when they were going to see off their relative.

However, Gul Seema Bibi from the other group told police that her son Rafiullah was taking her to a doctor for medical examination when armed men including Saifullah, Munir, Raqeeb and Khalid suddenly appeared and sprayed Rafiullah with bullets, killing him on the spot.

She said that the attackers managed to escape after committing the crime.

Police said that they handed over bodies to relatives after completing medico-legal formalities.

They said that they initiated an investigation after registering a case under relevant sections of law.

Separately, two bullet-riddled bodies were found in the limits of Ghaznikhel police station on Monday.

Additional SHO Waseeullah Khan said that he was present in the police station when someone informed him about two bodies that were lying in Tor Lawangkhel area.

He said that he along with a police party reached the venue, took the bodies into custody and shifted them to district headquarters hospital.

“The deceased, who could not be identified immediately, had been killed with a firearm,” he said, adding that police started investigation after registering a case under Section 302 (intentional murder) of Pakistan Penal Code.
