DCA Hyderabad elections held

HYDERABAD: Shakeel Ahmed Qaimkhani was elected president of the District Cricket Asso­ciation (DCA) Hyderabad, while Amir Mukhtiar Brohi was elected secretary in elections held at the National Stadium in Karachi the other day.

Mir Ali Khan Talpur was elected treasurer, according to an announcement by the PCB’s election commissioner Masood Qazi.

The announcement said the office-bearers were required to submit an undertaking within three business days of receiving the letter, failing which they would be de-notified. The office-bearers have also been directed to run the affairs of the association in accordance with the DCA Hyderabad constitution.

Qaimkhani received 29 votes against Imran Naseer’s 11, while Brohi secured 28 votes against Noshad Ali’s 12. Talpur also received 28 votes, defeating Ghulam Mustafa, who polled 12.

The elections were conducted under the supervision of deputy election commissioner Khalid Naveed Dar.

Shakeel Qureshi was the outgoing DCA president and had served three terms. Hyder Raza, backed by his group, also served as president from 2013 to 2016.
