PESHAWAR: Security forces have killed seven terrorists belonging to Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The state uses the term Fitna al Khwarij for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and refers to designated Balochistan-based groups as Fitna al Hindustan to highlight India’s role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistan.
Security sources said security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Bara area of KP and killed five terrorists belonging to Fitna al Khwarij. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the killed terrorists, the sources said.
In Balochistan’s Chagai district, security forces conducted a successful operation in the Nok Kacha area, killing two terrorists, the sources said.
They said members of Fitna al Hindustan had set an empty water tanker on fire in Nok Kacha before attempting to flee the area. Security forces responded promptly and killed the two terrorists.
The terrorists were also involved in arson attacks at various locations along the N-40 highway.
