The brave little dog

This is with reference to the story “The brave little dog” by Gulrukh Tausif (YW, February 13). It was a wonderful story because it depicted the bond an animal could have with its owner and dogs are famous for having such feelings for humans.

Dogs are protective of the family which owns it, they are alert and always prepared to fight when it comes to the safety and well-being of their owner, just like it was shown in the story.

Poverty

Poverty is the mother of all evils as it brings hunger and disease with it. I think there are three major reasons for poverty — over-population, lack of natural resources, inequality and injustice in society.

In our country, over-population, combined with limited resources, increases poverty and this in turn gives birth to street crimes.

I think it is high time that the government takes measures in bringing an end to poverty by providing employment to the jobless, free medical facilities to the poor and reducing the prices of commodities.

Wonder women of Pakistan

This is with reference to the cover story “Wonder women of Pakistan” by Ambreen Arshad (YW, March 5). I really liked this article because it showcased the incredible women of Pakistan who are not only making a name for themselves in the world but also of Pakistan.

People hardly know about the wonderful and amazing women in our country who are intelligent, talented and keeping pace with the world. This will also provide encouragement for they need to be highlighted in all platforms so that more girls of our country get encouragement and come forward.

I request the YW team to carry more articles on the talented women/girls in various fields in our country.

The life of a teacher

We talk about students’ routine as tough and tiring, but we hardly think about the teachers. Teachers work to build our nation by bringing quality education. They read, plan and reach the school on time and there they have not one class to attend, but so many classes to take and teach up to hundreds of students.

It is a tough job that we hardly consider as worthy of our praise and respect. But I want to say that we respect you, dear teachers, because you make us what we want to become in our life.

The weekly weird

I am fond of YW magazine. I have been reading it since my childhood and it has helped me a lot in my studies and in building a positive personality.

I also love the news section, especially The weekly weird. It gives us a handful of information about what weird things are going on around the world. I appreciate the effort of the YW team in doing this. However, the magazine provides very little reading stuff. For a fast reader like me, it takes only 20 minutes to go through the whole magazine.

So it is my humble request to kindly increase the reading material in the magazine so that we can enjoy it more.

My school life

Studying and going to school has given me a completely new personality, it has taken me from darkness into light. School life is the best life, when we love to be naughty and spend time with friends.

Teachers thought I took them for granted, but I proved them wrong by listening to their lectures and by taking the seat in the front row and showed them that I care.

Teachers showed me the right path, they encouraged me to complete my mission, they made me powerful and not only taught me to live a good life but they made me a person who can stand in front of anyone and face challenges.

So I want to advice other students that they are very lucky to have wonderful teachers. All they need is high spirits, a positive attitude and respect for teachers. I am sure they will become successful in life.

Time is precious

This is with the reference to the story “Time is precious” by Muniza Jalal (YW, March 12). The story described the consequences of being late and how time is important in making the most of the day.

It also showed that if we take time for granted we will not do any task properly. So always get ready before time to avoid any mishap.

Your favourite food origins
