This is with reference to the article “Cook-it-yourself: Chocolate mug cake” by Aamnah Arshad (YW, October 8). As I am obsessed with baking, I found this recipe so easy and tasty. I tried it and I was amazingly successful! It was the best mug cake I have ever made.

Positive attitude

Most people think that a positive attitude towards life is actually the fact that everything is going to go well and nothing bad is ever going to happen.

But I believe otherwise. I believe that believing nothing bad is ever going to happen to you is not a positive thing, in fact it is shutting your eyes from reality. The union of both good and bad times or happiness and sadness or smiles and tears is what makes life complete. If we subtract the bad times, sadness or tears from our life, only happiness wouldn’t make us realise the true meaning of it.

So I believe instead of believing that everything is going to be okay, one should also accept the fact that bad things do occur and can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere while positive attitude towards them will actually change life and ultimately one will conquer negativity and overcome fears.

Everyone has been through something bad at least once in their life but if one has survived it, this means one has the ability to face it. No matter what life throws at us, we humans eventually learn how to survive. So be positive and live your life

Wonder crafts

This is with reference to the DIY “Paper kitty” by Asif Ali (YW, October 15). I loved the craft and it was really amazing. The kitty looks so cute and I would definitely try to reuse newspapers in such a creative way.

The section is quite interesting and I really love to try all the things that the writer is introducing to us. I would suggest to the writer to provide more DIYs on various school projects like how to make a nice scrapebook, diaries, bookmarks, etc.

Everyone can be a hero

This is with reference to the story “Everyone can be a hero” by Ushna Siddiqui (YW, October 15). I disagree with the writer and the plot. The girl in the story gets the title “hero” after fighting and showing bravery which is stereotype thinking, indicating that if you fight then you can be called a hero and this is what makes everyone believe girls are not heroes.

However, getting achievements, helping the poor and needy, taking care of others, are what makes one a hero. Stereotyping should be stopped and we should show kids a positive picture of what it means to be a hero.
