With Eid so close, I am going to give you an idea of creating a fringed-flower vase to decor any place in your house.
Making fringed flowers takes a lot of time, if you are really interested in making one, I suggest you make fthe lowers in your leisure time. This way when you actually start making the vase, the flowers are already there. The final product looks unbelievably amazing and you can place it on your dining table or in the drawing room to impress the guests.
Things you need:
Colourful pages
Scissors
Thermocol ball (Easily available at any stationary shop)
Glue tube or hot glue
Directions:
A fringed flower is made in two parts; the centre is made with a different colour while the petals are fringed with another colour. For instance, if you are making pink flower, make the centre lilac, red or purple coloured so that the fringe (petals’ part) stands out on its own.
Cut a one centimetre wide, 10 inch in length strip from the colourful paper, this will be the petals part; picture 2.
Cut half centimetre wide and 10 inch length strip to make the centre of the flower (remember to take different colours); picture 3.
See the difference between both strips; picture 4.
To make the centre, roll the thin strip (i.e. half centimetre wide), picture 5.
When you reach the end, glue it, picture 6. Set it aside.
To make the fringe, make small thin cuts on the other paper strip as in pictures 7 and 8.
Take the rolled centre, and glue it on the flat part of the fringed-strip (don’t paste it on the fringe); picture 9.
Carefully roll till you reach the end; then glue the fringe around the centre; pictures 10 and 11.
Once the flower is made, put it downwards on a flat surface and press it; picture 12.
Make more flowers in the same way; picture 13.
When you are done making enough flowers (around 40 or 50 for a hand-sized thermocol ball), start pasting them one by one on the ball keeping in mind the colours or the theme of your choice, picture 14 and 15.
If your mum gives you a small glass or plastic jar, you can make a vase out of it by just putting some colourful scraps of papers or tissue paper inside; picture 16.
Your fringed flower vase is ready!
Note: (a) To cover the empty spaces on the thermocol ball, cut thin strips in green or whatever colour you like and carefully paste them wherever there is any space left out.
(b) If you can’t get thermocol ball, you can use any useless ball that you no longer play with, the result will be the same.
(c) If you can’t get glass or jar, you can use paper glass and paste wrapping paper around it.
