Music industry introduces AI labels
Major music organisations, including the IFPI, RIAA and the Grammys, have introduced a voluntary labelling system to show how generative AI is used in music.
The new labels distinguish between ‘AI-generated’ tracks, where most of the music is created by artificial intelligence, and ‘AI-assisted’ recordings, where humans remain the main creators but use AI for some elements. The groups hope streaming platforms will adopt the labels to give listeners greater transparency.
The move comes as AI-generated music continues to grow, with services like Deezer already detecting and labelling such content.
The ThunderCat’s bold new era
Dynamite Entertainment has announced a new ThunderCats comic series, launching on October 7.
Set after the ThunderCats X SilverHawks crossover, the story follows the ThunderCats as they try to build a peaceful new life on Third Earth alongside the SilverHawks and other civilisations. Their hopes are shattered when a mysterious omen transforms leader Lion-O into the fearsome Feral King, forcing his teammates to stop him while facing a dangerous new threat.
Written by Greg Pak with artwork by David Cousens, the reboot promises a fresh blend of science fiction and fantasy while exploring leadership, diplomacy and the future of Third Earth.
Black Panther III announced
Marvel has officially announced Black Panther III, with British actor David Jonsson cast as T’Challa’s son and the next Black Panther.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film follows the young hero as he comes of age, embraces his father’s legacy and steps into Wakanda’s greatest role. Jonsson, known for Industry and The Long Walk, was introduced to fans during Marvel’s Comic-Con panel, where Coogler confirmed that the story will centre on the new Black Panther’s journey.
The sequel follows Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), continuing the legacy of Chadwick Boseman’s iconic superhero. The film is scheduled for release on December 15, 2028.
