ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the modern command, control, communication and coordination centre of Islamabad police here on Tuesday.

The modern centre will significantly improve the command, monitoring, coordination and quick decision-making system of Islamabad police, Naqvi said.

The performance of the police, response time and monitoring of the field force will be more effective with modern AI and technology-based systems, the minister said, adding that the main objective of the new centre is to provide the IG Islamabad with effective command and monitoring of the entire Islamabad Police from a single location.

This modern system will further improve communication and coordination between different police units, he said, adding that in any incident or emergency, timely information, immediate decision-making and rapid police response will be possible.

The command, monitoring and accountability system of the police will be further strengthened through modern technology, Naqvi said, adding that the centre will also enable effective monitoring of police performance in the field.

Protection of citizens, improvement in police performance and establishment of law and order in Islamabad are our top priorities, he added.

The minister also inspected various parts of the centre and reviewed the modern monitoring and command system. He was also briefed on the system integrated with Safe City, police operations, field force monitoring, emergency response and modern AI-based technology.

IG Islamabad police, DG, IG Islamabad and other relevant officers were also present on the occasion.

With the new command and control centre, the IG Islamabad will be able to directly monitor and command the Safe City, police operations and the law and order situation in the city from his office.

All important operational systems of the police, including Safe City, will be connected to a central command and control platform.

In any emergency or security situation, the capital police chief will be able to directly monitor the situation and issue immediate orders.
