RAWALPINDI: More than 400 police personnel will be deployed to ensure foolproof security for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT)-2026 scheduled to be held on September 20 across 15 cities in Punjab, including Rawalpindi.

Rawalpindi police have chalked out a comprehensive security plan with deployment of more than 429 police personnel, including 30 traffic police personnel and 100 Elite Force commandos. The police teams, led by four DSPs, and assisted by 75 inspectors/ASI, 220 constables, 100 Elite Force commandos will be deployed to ensure the security of candidates and staff involved in the conduct of examination.

The examination centres have been established in Rawalpindi – Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Shamasabad, Government Graduate College Satellite Town and Siddiq Public School Satellite Town. The police have been requested to make foolproof security arrangements for the safety of candidates and staff involved in the conduct of examination.

The police have also been asked to ensure the availability of jammers, scanners and deployment of police personnel at examination centres by September 19. As part of foolproof security, 11 walk-through gates will be installed by the Special Branch at all examination centres and women police will be deployed as 60pc candidates are female.

Adequate security arrangements will be made at the rest houses where couriers and their teams will be staying along with examination material during September 18-20.

Special Branch and Civil Defence departments will carry out technical sweeping of the centre prior to commencement of the examination on September 20. Police patrolling in the area adjacent to the examination centres will be conducted on the test day while security clearance of the faculty and staff of the university involved in the MDCAT-related assignments will be ensured.

Proper traffic and parking arrangements will be made with deployment of traffic police staff around the examination centres.
