QUETTA: An officer of the Accountant General (AG) Office Quetta was gunned down by unidentified armed men in the Sabzal Road area on Friday.

Police said Assistant Accounts Officer Ghayoor Buzdar was targeted near his residence after he returned home from dropping his children at school in Jinnah Town.

“The assailants were waiting for the deceased near his house. He sustained multiple bullet injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” police said, adding that the armed men fled the scene after the shooting.

Police rushed to the site after receiving information about the killing and shifted the body to Civil Hospital. The body was handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities.

Police registered a case against unidentified assailants and launched an investigation. The motive for the killing was not immediately known.
